about Polina

Polina Alaska is a multidisciplinary artist dedicated to the study of the figure. Her work explores the delicate tension between the physical body and the internal psyche, translated through three distinct yet harmonious disciplines.

  • In Painting: She uses color and light to build depth, creating atmospheric portraits that feel both timeless and immediate.

  • In Drawing: Her graphite and charcoal works focus on the elegance of line and the honesty of a single mark.

  • In Ceramics: Polina brings the figure into the three-dimensional world, hand-building vessels and sculptures that honor the imperfections of the human silhouette.

Based in Tirol, Polina’s practice is a continuous search for what it means to be present in one’s own skin. Her work invites the viewer to slow down and find beauty in the quiet, figurative moments of everyday life.

Artist's statement

“Who i am? Am i what my hands create? Am i what my thoughts are defining as Polina? Am i what others see as a person called Polina?..our roots, genetic memory, elements, energies and Light – these are one of important summands besides those our materialistic reality makes us to believe we are.
Some of my art is focused on outer aspects, but i find important not to forget the inner.
World history, anthropology, textile varieties, handicraft , old pagan traditions, spiritual teachings..- those are some of my interests and main sources of creativity.”
