Biography

Polina Alaska (Polina Ermolovich) was born in 1984  in Moscow. Her deep passion for drawing and painting emerged early in her childhood. Even while pursuing studies in a field of Foreign Languages and Human Rights, Polina continued to develop her craft as a self-taught artist, creating illustrations, paintings, and decorative murals.

Her extensive travels through Russia, Asia, and Latin America sharpened her keen sense of cultural diversity—an influence that remains visible in her work today. Polina’s formal transition toward figurative art began at the life drawing group of Andriyaka Art School in Moscow. This foundation was furthered through several life drawing seminars and workshops under the guidance of renowned artists such as Yuji Sakuma (Japan), Deryck Henley (Scotland), and Sabine Klement (Austria). these experiences infused her natural style with a sophisticated, academic touch.

In recent years, Polina has expanded her practice into ceramics. She works with clay to create decorative pieces characterized by a distinctive design language and unique, tactile textures and patterns.

A versatile artist with a global perspective, Polina has lived in Tyrol, Austria since 2017 and established her home and studio in Mieders in the Stubai Valley.
